Usually, in a computer system, the hard disk is the slowest component. Even with the development of technology, hard disks are still very slow compared to the RAM memory, for example. That's why running a resource-demanding game can be a slow experience, even though the computer has a very fast processor or a lot of system memory. A very good idea would be to use the RAM memory as virtual partitions and to install games on them. Thus, games and virtually any application will run faster than ever. As its name clearly states, the program allows emulating the system memory to a partition, using a certain amount of memory. The program can be installed on almost any version of the Windows operating system, ranging from XP to Windows 7. When run for the first time, GiliSoft RAMDisk will display a simple wizard which allows setting up a new RAM virtual partition. The size of the partition can be customized, together with the file system and the drive letter. Besides that, one can choose to save all the files and folders copied to that partition as an image file, for being used later. That's because restarting the computer will automatically delete all the contents of the virtual partition.

After completing the simple wizard, one will be able to perform file and folder operations like he would normally do with a normal partition. One can choose to save the contents of the RAM disk at any moment, making sure that the information will not be lost. This can be done from the graphical and intuitive interface of GiliSoft RAMDisk. The program is also compatible with any image file, created with 3rd party applications.
